Loma Linda Music Trivia

ThankSharing is a free annual (7 years running) Thanksgiving Concert offered by Loma Linda University Medical Center. The concert is open to anyone and features talented groups and choirs from local schools and churches. Enjoy songs of praise, beautiful bells, local artists, and a thanksgiving message. In lieu of an entrance fee for the program, organizers collect non-perishable items as your entry ticket.

The Loma Linda Music Conservatory is an innovative school of music that offers a comprehensive pre-collegiate music education in Southern California. The Conservatory offers music lessons in piano, voice, guitar, violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, percussion, and brass instruments. Additionally, group ensemble performance opportunities are offered to enhance private instruction.

Guitars for Vets is a program offered at the VA Medical Center in Loma Linda. The program, started in 2011, provides guitars and music instruction for veterans who have been referred by the center’s behavioral health department. Students get 10 individual half-hour lessons over 10 weeks. If they complete the course, they receive a guitar of their own and can participate in group sessions with other graduates. The music therapy is run as a separate nonprofit charity under the oversight of the medical center. Some veterans say it has made significant changes in their lives.
